default to public videos

September 30th, 2009

they’re online for a while, but here are the videos about the twitter art projects “tweetleak” and “tweetscreen” on vimeo:

“tweetleak” is an monolithic object printing tweets written near its location

“tweetscreen” is a networked installation, projecting local tweets in a public space.

both objects notify the author of the tweet that his tweet was “published”

heres the status quo of the software:

what it does: it repeatedly loads the flickr rss feed, downlaods al photos, displays them in a stream (top part).

if a photo is tagged with significant tags, it displays it in large size, and decomposes it into particles of red, green and blue color, which fall down to three attractors.

the color values are then passed to our DIY pixel dispenser.
