in germany, when you want to say “to throw a spanner in the works”, you say “sand ins getriebe streuen” which can be translated as “pour sand in the gear”. which has now become a problem…
the sesame dispenser we wanted to use
is quickly blocked by the sand… and not very precise…
this is clearly not the way to go…
Funny, the Finnish version of that saying is “to throw sticks in the wheels”. Anyway, let me know when this is exhibited, I’m a bit out of the loop these days…
