i just thought of something… could it be possible to check the battery status via applescript and then eject the disk at 1 percent or so, so that the laptop would feed itself? like in the image below?

Monday, November 6th, 2006using some adhesive tape, i installed the box on the universities laptop. not very subtle, i know. i wonder how many switching actions the glued switch-pin will survive…

Monday, November 6th, 2006last week i bought some basic parts and set up the CD-Switch… iside it has a battery powered relay that is triggered by a strange dipswitch that i salvaged from an old tapedeck, some batteries, and of course, connectors for 220V AC

analogue extension 3: the safety vest

never get hit by a car again when changing a tyre or helping at the site of a car accident: the laptop has a safety vest attached to it, you can wear it as usual, but with the screen on your back showing a flashing warning triangle.
plus, the vest could also serve as a water protection for the laptop when wrapped around it

analogue extension 2: the laptop as a tent light

this is for all the web-addicted who even dont go on a camping holiday
without their laptops. the laptop showing just a white screen is attached to the tent roof by some custom construction and brightens up the tent at night.
